Mike Peck, Owner, No. 40 Arthritis Foundation/Kids Get Arthritis Too Chevrolet

Racing and family have always gone hand-in-hand for Mike Peck, team owner of Peck Motorsports.

Peck got his first taste of racing as a driver at age 15, piloting dirt cars around Hagerstown (MD) Speedway. He continued driving as a hobby while he pursued a career in medicine. After graduating from medical school, he found the perfect way to stay involved with the sport. Peck’s brother, Tom Peck, began racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 1984. Mike became part owner of the team and helped manage the team throughout his brother’s career, which spanned through 1995.

The team became inactive after Tom retired from the sport. Now Todd Peck emerging as an up-and-coming driver, Mike has renewed interest in the team. He has rekindled his role as team owner and fields the No. 96 Peck Motorsports Chevrolet for his son. The team has risen from the Hooters Pro Cup Series to the K&N Pro Series. They will compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2012.

Todd Peck - Driver

For Todd Peck, racing is in his family blood. His father, Dr. Michael Peck, is an experienced professional and former owner in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. His uncle, Tom Peck, was an accomplished racer for the family team in the same series. Today it is Todd’s turn to take the reign of the family racing operation, and they plan on moving straight up the ladder of NASCAR.

Todd Peck first began racing at the age of 14. He raced karts and quickly found the passion the rest of his family had already known. Peck then became very serious and moved into the Allison Legacy Series, a developmental series that races throughout the east coast. Peck found more success and the decision was made to progress to the USAR Pro Cup Series. Peck was only 16 at the time, and actually became the youngest to start in the series at the time.

Keith Wolfe, GM/Crew Chief, No. 40 Stopain/Arthritis Foundation Chevrolet

Whether he’s been behind the wheel, turning a wrench or calling the shots from the pit box, Keith Wolfe has seen nearly all aspects of racing. Now serving as general manager and crew chief of the No. 40 Peck Motorsports Chevrolet, Wolfe looks to continue his rising career as he helps propel Todd Peck into racing’s top tiers.

Wolfe, a Pennsylvania native, started his career behind the wheel of a go-kart at age 14. He quickly moved up to the dirt ranks, driving micro-sprint and sprint cars. When Wolfe reached 20, he decided to hang up his helmet and serve as a mechanic for other Pennsylvania-based dirt series teams.  At age 22, he enlisted with Chuck Bown to learn asphalt racing and began working with stock car teams in the Hooters Pro Cup Series. It was in the Hooters Pro Cup Series, Wolfe met Mike and Todd Peck and began a bright future. Wolfe was hired on their team as a mechanic, but his talent quickly rose to the role of crew chief in 2008. In their first season together, Wolfe and Peck reached victory lane.

The team has gone on to compete in the K&N Pro Series and will vie in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2012
